    [ A MESSAGE FROM Yoon-Ok, Wife of Seoul City Mayor Lee Myung-bak, 2005 ]

Helping our neighbors is simply the right thing to do and also the most rewarding. And this event is a great example of what we can achieve.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for inviting me to participate in the Seoul International Women's Association (SIWA) and Diplomatic Community Bazaar this year. I'm very honored and pleased to be a part of it.

It's great being able to bring together people of various nationalities, to help our local community. It gives me a great feeling, like I am in a small but beautiful global village. Let me take this opportunity to express my heartfelt respect to all of you who have shown what true love is through your charity works and with your affection for Seoul and Korea.

SIWA Bazaar is indeed a good chance for us to experience various cultures of nations around the world. I hope that this annual event would further prosper in the coming years and contribute to the globalization of the city of Seoul.

I also would like to thank the organizers and participants of this bazaar and wish every success of this event. it is my sincere hope that the bazaar may help our neighbors in need have a warmer winter.

I wish you the best of luck and health.

    Kim Yoon-Ok
Wife of Seoul City Mayor Lee Myung-bak

  • THANK YOU TO THE DIPLOMATIC COMMUNITY

  • We would like to thank each and every member of the Diplomatic Community - in particular Mrs. Yolanda de Ungo, Doyenne of the Diplomatic Community and Carolyn La Brash, SIWA Diplomatic Liaison for their tireless efforts and enthusiasm. Bringing together 52 nations with a catalogue of products and knowledge worthy of a UN summit, we were taken around the world while never leaving Seoul. To all the wives of diplomats who generously contributed their time, we are extremely grateful. The team worked extremely hard at organizing and bringing to us a fabulous array of goods for the Bazaar. We thank you once again for helping us share our cultures, and displaying what a global community can achieve.
